Burn Naze as we know it today is a fairly recent addition to Thornton which sprung up with the coming of the Alkali Works.  The name Burn Naze however has its roots further back in history.

were delineated on plan No.1 (copied from Ordinance Survey Map 1912 Edition) drawn on before recited Appointment

 

Of New Trustees of 25th July 1928 and thereon coloured yellow blue red and* green TOGETHER

 

with an SUBJECT to all rights of using streets back street and footpaths adjoining to or forming part of said  premises.
