Temperance Bar

Temperance bars were established, in conjunction with the Temperance Society, during the late 19th century and were primarily located around Lancashire. Temperance bars, fuelled by the Methodists, did not serve alcohol and with a full temperance license were allowed to open on Sundays despite English trading laws.
The above Temperance Bar is located on Fleetwood Road North and is today the Animal Magic Pet Shop.
