Fleetwood Road, Thornton - c1905

Fleetwood Road North, Thornton - 2009

These photographs show a view of Fleetwood Road, now Fleetwood Road North, continuing around to the right with the junction of Church Road on the left.  The 2009 photo is taken at a slightly different angle as we didn't feel compelled to stand in the middle of the road to replicate the original !

In the c1905 photograph, the cottages seen in the distance facing towards to camera are Gaskell's Cottages which most likely provided the name for Gaskell Crescent which is now situated behind where they once stood.
