On Bord ... Elizabeth in Rapahannack River in 1752
I Having this oppertunity By William Dixon machs it my bisness to
Lett My Dear hear from heir Own. We arived here 29th of Do. after
a fine passige of 6 Weeks from Gambia with one hundred and Thirty Slaves
We have had a virre Good voige as for the Slaves Doing us any harm
They Never so much as atempted to Do us any harm I thank God for it
I have had my health virre Well I cannot Give the River of Gambia
a Bad Carracter as to health tho virre few on Bord of our Snow can Say
the Same we Buried 4 of our people there and Boath (crossed out) we and
all the Ships in the River was virre Sickley this Year and had Great mortality
on Bord of them We came from there the 16 Day of June and
we Left there the Castletown Capten Tindall from Lancafter he could
Nott Saill when We Did he had buried 4 hands and all the Rist was in a
virre bad State of health We Sailed from the ... Island of Man the 2 Day
of March and we arived at Gambia 26th of Do. We have had fine passigs
so far I Cannot Give the any account as Yett how Long our Stay Will Be
in this Country as Yet for We are going up the River to Sell our Cargo
I writte to the from Gambia the 29 of March by the Cumberland Snow
She Was for Sailling in a few Days after .... I have not much more to write
at Prisant but my Duty to parants and Love to Brothers and Sisters and Service
to All Enquiring frinds So no more at Prisent from thy Loving husband
