Poolfoot is the area on *Heys Street near to the junction of *Crabtree Road which is shown by the red arrow on the map opposite.  Poolfoot Farm has gone but Poolfoot Cottage (1675) still stands on the corner of *Crabtree.

The name probably came from the fact that the dyke used to form into a pool here.  There is a  spring shown in the bottom left of the map which might explain it.  The pool is much larger on older maps than shown here.
