An  Act  for  dividing,  allotting and  enclofing,  a cer-

    tain Tract or Parcel of Common, Wafte, and Marfh

    Grounds, called Thornton Marfh, within the feve-

    ral Parifhes of Poulton and Bifpham, in the County

    Palatine of Lancafter.                  [13th June 1799.]

 

Preamble

WHEREAS  there  is  within  and  Parcel  of  the  feveral  Manors  or

                   Lordfhips of Thornton, Little Bifpham with Norbreck, and

           Great Carleton, in the feveral Parifhes of Poulton and Bifpham,

in the County Palatine of Lancaster,  a certain Tract or Parcel of Com-

mon, Wafte, and Marfh Grounds, usually called or known by the Name of

Thornton  Marfh,  containing,  by  Eftimation,  Eight  hundred  Statue

Acres, or thereabouts, fituate within the feveral Townfhips, Vills, Ham-

lets, or Divifions of Thornton, Little Bifpham and Norbreck, and Great

Carleton, within the faid feveral Parifhes of Poulton and Bifpham, and

bounded by  the  Strand or  Sea Shore,  and  by  the  ancient  enclofed

Grounds of the faid feveral Townfhips,  Vills,  Hamlets, or Divifions of

Thornton, Little Bifpham with Norbreck, and Great Carleton, and of Great

Bifpham, within  the  Parifh of  Bifpham  aforesaid:  and whereas  Bold

Fleetwood Hefketh Efquireis or claims to be the Lord or Owner of the

faid Manor or  Lordfhip,  or reputed Manor  or  Lordfhip  of  Thornton,

and  also  is  or  claims  to  be  the  Lord  or  Owner of  the faid  Manor

or  Lordfhip,  or reputed  Manor  or  Lordfhip,  of  Little  Bifpham with

Norbreck,  and  as  fuch  is  or  claims  to  be  feifed  or  entitled  unto

the Soil and Inheritance,  and  Royalties,  of and within fuch  Part of the

faid Common,  Wafte,  and  Marfh  Grounds,  as  is  fituate  within and
