Town End was the home of Town End Farm along with a few farm labourers cottages.  In the 1840's it was also home to a Bread Baker/Grocer.

The red line on the map shows where another road or track left Town End in 1847.  This continued until half way along *Reta Drive before joining a lane which ran diagonally up to what is today Fleetwood Road North between *Walker Way and *Springfield Drive.  The road at the bottom of the map shown in orange is Holmes Road.
